difference of two squares a^2 −b^2 =(a+b)(a−b)
$$\mathrm{difference}\:\mathrm{of}\:\mathrm{two}\:\mathrm{squares} \\ $$$$ \\ $$$${a}^{\mathrm{2}} −{b}^{\mathrm{2}} =\left({a}+{b}\right)\left({a}−{b}\right) \\ $$

a^2 −b^2 =a^2 +ab−ab−b^2 =a(a+b)−b(a+b) =(a+b)(a−b)
$${a}^{\mathrm{2}} −{b}^{\mathrm{2}} ={a}^{\mathrm{2}} +{ab}−{ab}−{b}^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$$$={a}\left({a}+{b}\right)−{b}\left({a}+{b}\right) \\ $$$$=\left({a}+{b}\right)\left({a}−{b}\right) \\ $$
