A sound wave of velocity 350 m/s is directed  towards the surface of water . If the ratio of  the wave length of sound in water to that in   air is 425:100, calculate the velocity of the   wave in water.

formula ⇒ v=fλ ⇒λ=(v/f)  λ=wave length  f=wave frequency  v=wave velocity  λ_(water)  : λ_(air)  = 425 : 100  (v_(water) /f_(water) ) : (v_(air) /f_(air) ) = 17 : 4 ⇒ f_(water) =f_(air)   v_(water)  : v_(air)  = 17 : 4  v_(water)  : 350 = 17 : 4  v_(water)  = ((350×17)/4) = 1,487.5  m/s
