I think we can not find an analytical  solution. The numerical solution can  be found using a lot of apps, e.g. geogebra.  x≈2.76909366

analytical solution can be found for  5−x=(√(x+(√(x+(√(x+(√(x+...))))))))  which is x=5−(√5)

x = 2.7690.....  i need a workings to the correct answer.

a−x=(√(x+(√(x+(√(x+(√(x+...))))))))  a=x+(√(x+(√(x+(√(x+(√(x+...))))))))  ⇒a=x+(√a)  ⇒x=a−(√a)    for a=5  x=5−(√5)
$${a}−{x}=\sqrt{{x}+\sqrt{{x}+\sqrt{{x}+\sqrt{{x}+…}}}} \\ $$$${a}={x}+\sqrt{{x}+\sqrt{{x}+\sqrt{{x}+\sqrt{{x}+…}}}} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow{a}={x}+\sqrt{{a}} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow{x}={a}−\sqrt{{a}} \\ $$$$ \\ $$$${for}\:{a}=\mathrm{5} \\ $$$${x}=\mathrm{5}−\sqrt{\mathrm{5}} \\ $$
