$$\bigtriangleup{ADE}\sim\bigtriangleup{AEC} \\ $$$$\therefore\frac{{y}}{\mathrm{6}}=\frac{\mathrm{24}}{{y}}\Rightarrow{y}=\sqrt{\mathrm{6}×\mathrm{24}}=\mathrm{12} \\ $$$${Area}\:\bigtriangleup{ABC}=\frac{\mathrm{1}}{\mathrm{2}}×{BC}×{y} \\ $$$$=\frac{\mathrm{1}}{\mathrm{2}}×\mathrm{48}×\mathrm{12}=\mathrm{288}{squnit} \\ $$
