(y−4)^2 =12(x−9) is comparable  Y^2 =4aX  here Y=y−4, X=(x−9)   for Y^2 =4aX    vertex X=0 ∴x−9=0⇒x=9    Y=0 ⇒y−4=0 ⇒y=4  focus  X=a  ⇒X=3    [4a=12 ⇒a=3]    x−9=3 ⇒x=12  Y=0 (y−4)=0                                                        y=4  eqn. directrix  X=−a        x−9=−3⇒ x−6=0
