A rectangular cardboard is 8cm long  and 6cm wide. What is the least  number of beads you can arrange on  the board such that there are at least  two of the beads that are less than  (√(10))cm apart.

the question is not clear.  for me we only need to put two  beads on board with a distance <(√(10)).

i understand the question now.  the question is how many breads can  you maximally place on the table  such that the distances between them  are not less than (√(10)). answer should  be easy.
