Correct me if I am wrong .

\underset{\sqrt{- 1} = 1}{\sum^{3}} x_{\sqrt{- 1}} + y_{\sqrt{- 1}}

∴ (i = \sqrt{- 1})

\sqrt{- 1} = 1 ? ? ? \sqrt{- 1} \neq 1

i is not variable . It cannot hold values

1 through 3 .
