f(x+1)= 2x−5 , find the value of the f(x) at x=2
$${f}\left({x}+\mathrm{1}\right)=\:\mathrm{2}{x}−\mathrm{5}\:,\:{find}\:{the}\:{value}\:{of}\:{the}\:{f}\left({x}\right)\:{at}\:{x}=\mathrm{2} \\ $$

x=1: f(2)=2(1)−5=−3
$${x}=\mathrm{1}:\:{f}\left(\mathrm{2}\right)=\mathrm{2}\left(\mathrm{1}\right)−\mathrm{5}=−\mathrm{3} \\ $$

f(x+1)= 2x−5 , find the value of the f(x) at x=2  Replace x by x−1:  f(x−1+1)=2(x−1)−5  f(x)=2x−7  f(2)=2(2)−7=−3
$${f}\left({x}+\mathrm{1}\right)=\:\mathrm{2}{x}−\mathrm{5}\:,\:{find}\:{the}\:{value}\:{of}\:{the}\:{f}\left({x}\right)\:{at}\:{x}=\mathrm{2} \\ $$$${Replace}\:{x}\:{by}\:{x}−\mathrm{1}: \\ $$$${f}\left({x}−\mathrm{1}+\mathrm{1}\right)=\mathrm{2}\left({x}−\mathrm{1}\right)−\mathrm{5} \\ $$$${f}\left({x}\right)=\mathrm{2}{x}−\mathrm{7} \\ $$$${f}\left(\mathrm{2}\right)=\mathrm{2}\left(\mathrm{2}\right)−\mathrm{7}=−\mathrm{3} \\ $$

Right Sir! thanks. Or as follow:   f(x+1)= 2(x+1) −7     Then:   f(x)= 2x −7   f(2)= −3
$${Right}\:{Sir}!\:{thanks}.\:{Or}\:{as}\:{follow}: \\ $$$$\:{f}\left({x}+\mathrm{1}\right)=\:\mathrm{2}\left({x}+\mathrm{1}\right)\:−\mathrm{7}\:\:\:\:\:{Then}: \\ $$$$\:\boldsymbol{{f}}\left(\boldsymbol{{x}}\right)=\:\mathrm{2}\boldsymbol{{x}}\:−\mathrm{7} \\ $$$$\:{f}\left(\mathrm{2}\right)=\:−\mathrm{3} \\ $$
