say there are n houses. the first house′s number =11 the last house′s number =11+2(n−1) sum of numbers of all houses: ((n(11+11+2(n−1)))/2)=551 n^2 +10n−551=0 (n−19)(n+29)=0 ⇒n=19 ⇒n=−29 (reject)
