If f be n→n   (n∈N) and is increasing,  f(f(n))=3n; find f(2).  options:  1, 2, 3,4 .
Iffbenn(nN)andisincreasing,f(f(n))=3n;findf(2).options:1,2,3,4.

if f(f(x))=3x  ⇒f(x)=(√3)x ?
iff(f(x))=3xf(x)=3x?

f(2)=?, we have to choose among   1,2,3,4   Sir.

i know. if f(x) is a continous function,  it could be f(x)=(√3)x to fulfill f(f(x))=3x.  but here n∈N, f(n) in not continuous,  but must be increasing. you can try  and see the only possibility for f(2)  is f(2)=3 to keep f(f(n))=3n.
