Is the ans. a^(1/(n − m))    ?

(a^m /a^n )=a^(m−n)   no matter if m>n or m<n  a^(−k) =(1/a^k ) ⇒ a^(m−n) =(1/a^(n−m) )
$$\frac{{a}^{{m}} }{{a}^{{n}} }={a}^{{m}−{n}} \\ $$$$\mathrm{no}\:\mathrm{matter}\:\mathrm{if}\:{m}>{n}\:\mathrm{or}\:{m}<{n} \\ $$$${a}^{−{k}} =\frac{\mathrm{1}}{{a}^{{k}} }\:\Rightarrow\:{a}^{{m}−{n}} =\frac{\mathrm{1}}{{a}^{{n}−{m}} } \\ $$
