If (n_P_r  /n_C_r  ) −1=5, find the value of r

^n P_r  = ((n!)/((n−r)!))   &   ^n C_r  = ((n!)/(r!(n−r)!))  ⇒   ((^n P_r  )/(^n C_r ))−1 = r!−1 = 5  ⇒   r! = 6   ⇒   r= 3 .
nPr=n!(nr)!&nCr=n!r!(nr)!nPrnCr1=r!1=5r!=6r=3.

2! = 2  ,  4! = 24  ⇒  2! <r! < 4!  lets check 3! = 1×2×3 = 6  ⇒  r! = 6  ⇒  r=3 .
2!=2,4!=242!<r!<4!letscheck3!=1×2×3=6r!=6r=3.
