The pencils has diameter   7mm.    Question  Seven pencils are held together in hexagon shape by an elastic band. If the pencils are of diameter 7mm, what is the length of the band in this shape

L = 6×(2r+2r(π/6))  L = 12r(1+(π/6))  r = 3,5mm : L = 64,0mm
$$\mathrm{L}\:=\:\mathrm{6}×\left(\mathrm{2}{r}+\mathrm{2}{r}\frac{\pi}{\mathrm{6}}\right) \\ $$$$\mathrm{L}\:=\:\mathrm{12}{r}\left(\mathrm{1}+\frac{\pi}{\mathrm{6}}\right) \\ $$$${r}\:=\:\mathrm{3},\mathrm{5}{mm}\::\:\mathrm{L}\:=\:\mathrm{64},\mathrm{0}{mm} \\ $$

Please sir. How did you get       L  =  6(2r   +   2r (π/6))
