let ∠DCB=θ  ⇒∠DAB=∠CBA=π−θ  AB=EB=4  DA=DE (given)  ⇒∠DEB=∠DAB=π−θ  ∠DEC=π−∠DEB=π−(π−θ)=θ=∠DCE  ⇒DC=DE               =DA=CB=5+4=9  ⇒x=9
