$$\mathrm{If}\:\mathrm{the}\:\mathrm{next}\:\mathrm{number}\:\mathrm{is}\:\mathrm{24},\mathrm{then} \\ $$$$\mathrm{the}\:\mathrm{rule}\:\mathrm{should}\:\mathrm{be},\mathrm{I}\:\mathrm{think} \\ $$$$\mathrm{n}^{\mathrm{2}} −\mathrm{1}.\:\mathrm{But}\:\mathrm{this}\:\mathrm{rule}\:\mathrm{gives} \\ $$$$\mathrm{first}\:\mathrm{term}\:\mathrm{as}\:\mathrm{0}.\mathrm{So}\:\mathrm{the}\:\mathrm{sequence} \\ $$$$\mathrm{might}\:\mathrm{be}\:\mathrm{0},\mathrm{3},\mathrm{8},\mathrm{15},\mathrm{24},… \\ $$
