$$\left({y}+\mathrm{13}\right)\left({y}+{a}\right)={y}^{\mathrm{2}} +\left(\mathrm{13}+{a}\right){y}+\mathrm{13}{a} \\ $$$$\mathrm{13}+{a}=\mathrm{0} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow{a}=−\mathrm{13} \\ $$
