h(x)=x^5 −2x  h(−x)=(−x)^5 −2(−x)                =−x^5 +2x               =−(x^5 −2x)               =−h(x)  ∴ h(x) is an odd function.
$$\mathrm{h}\left(\mathrm{x}\right)=\mathrm{x}^{\mathrm{5}} −\mathrm{2x} \\ $$$$\mathrm{h}\left(−\mathrm{x}\right)=\left(−\mathrm{x}\right)^{\mathrm{5}} −\mathrm{2}\left(−\mathrm{x}\right) \\ $$$$\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:=−\mathrm{x}^{\mathrm{5}} +\mathrm{2x} \\ $$$$\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:=−\left(\mathrm{x}^{\mathrm{5}} −\mathrm{2x}\right) \\ $$$$\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:=−\mathrm{h}\left(\mathrm{x}\right) \\ $$$$\therefore\:\mathrm{h}\left(\mathrm{x}\right)\:\mathrm{is}\:\mathrm{an}\:\mathrm{odd}\:\mathrm{function}. \\ $$
