the easiest way to prove is graphically.  here′s a different proof:  sin x =((e^(ix) −e^(−ix) )/(2i))∧cos x =((e^(ix) +e^(−ix) )/2)  let e^(ix) =p  sin^2  x +cos^2  x =(((p−(1/p))^2 )/((2i)^2 ))+(((p+(1/p))^2 )/2^2 )=  =((p^2 −2+(1/p^2 ))/(−4))+((p^2 +2+(1/p^2 ))/4)=(4/4)=1
