(1) x<1 ⇒ 2−x+1−x=4                             3−2x = 4 ; x=−(1/2)  (2) 1≤x<2⇒2−x+x−1=4                                 1=4 ←no solution  (3)x≥2 ⇒x−2+x−1=4                          2x = 7; x=(7/2)  ∴ x = −(1/2) or x = (7/2)
