$${water}\:{at}\:\mathrm{4}°{C}\:{is}\:{denser}\:{than}\:{water} \\ $$$${at}\:{below}\:\mathrm{4}°{C}\:{or}\:{above}\:\mathrm{4}°{C}\:. \\ $$$${intermolecular}\:{forces}\:{vary}\:{with} \\ $$$${distance}\:{between}\:{molecules}\:{as}\: \\ $$$${temperature}\:{changes}\:{in}\:{a}\:{manner} \\ $$$${that}\:{it}\:{is}\:{most}\:{dense}\:{at}\:\mathrm{4}°{C}. \\ $$

$${cold}\:{water}\:{is}\:{heavier}.\:{When}\:{we} \\ $$$${boil}\:{water},\:{water}\:{that}\:{becomes} \\ $$$${hot}\:{rises}\:{and}\:{cold}\:{water}\:{above}\: \\ $$$${comes}\:{to}\:{the}\:{bottom}\:{of}\:{the}\:{vessel} \\ $$$${which}\:{now}\:{gets}\:{heated}\:{and}\:{rises}. \\ $$$${This}\:{is}\:{called}\:{heat}\:{tranfer}\:{through} \\ $$$${convection}. \\ $$
