if I immediately update the latest version without deleting the old version, will it be a problem?

$$\mathrm{If}\:\mathrm{you}\:\mathrm{only}\:\mathrm{updating}\:\mathrm{and}\:\mathrm{not} \\ $$$$\mathrm{reinstalling}\:\mathrm{then}\:\mathrm{saved}\:\mathrm{equation} \\ $$$$\mathrm{will}\:\mathrm{be}\:\mathrm{preserved}. \\ $$$$\mathrm{However}\:\mathrm{it}\:\mathrm{is}\:\mathrm{always}\:\mathrm{a}\:\mathrm{good}\:\mathrm{idea} \\ $$$$\mathrm{to}\:\mathrm{keep}\:\mathrm{backup}\:\mathrm{of}\:\mathrm{your}\:\mathrm{work}. \\ $$$$\mathrm{Backup}\:\mathrm{file}\:\mathrm{will}\:\mathrm{be}\:\mathrm{present}\:\mathrm{in} \\ $$$$/\mathrm{tinkutara}/\mathrm{maths}\:\mathrm{folder}\:\mathrm{of} \\ $$$$\mathrm{sdcard}. \\ $$

Backup is just a file and does not impact your OS.
