α+β = (a+1)  2αβ = (a^2 +a+1)   ∴ α^2 +β^2 = (α+β)^2 −2αβ = (a+1)^2 −(a^2 +a+1)                    = a
α+β=(a+1)2αβ=(a2+a+1)α2+β2=(α+β)22αβ=(a+1)2(a2+a+1)=a

α^2  +β^2  =(α+β)^2 −2αβ =(a+1)^2  −2(1/2)(a^2  +a+1)  =a^2  +2a+1−a^2 −a−1 =a .
α2+β2=(α+β)22αβ=(a+1)2212(a2+a+1)=a2+2a+1a2a1=a.
