$$pipetofill:\frac{1}{40}$$$$pipetoempty:\frac{1}{24}$$$$bothpipes\left(toempty\right):\frac{1}{24}-\frac{1}{40}$$$$time:\frac{1}{\frac{1}{24}-\frac{1}{40}}=\frac{40\times 24}{40-24}=60minutes$$
