ar(white△)=(1/2)×32×24−330=384−330=54  Clearly, the two △s are similar  ∴(((perimeter of white△)/(perimeter of larger△)))^2 =((ar(white△))/(ar(larger△)))=(((54)/(384)))  ⇒((X/(24+32+40)))^2 =((3/8))^2 ⇒X=(3/8)×96=  36  ✓

P_(big) =24+32+40=96  A_(big) =((24×32)/2)=384  A_(small) =384−330=54  (P_(small) /P_(big) )=(√(A_(small) /A_(big) ))=(√((54)/(384)))=(3/8)  ⇒P_(small) =(3/8)×96=36
