x=af(t) ⇒ f(t)=(x/a) ⇒  y=bf(t)=((bx)/a)
$${x}={af}\left({t}\right)\:\Rightarrow\:{f}\left({t}\right)=\frac{{x}}{{a}}\:\Rightarrow \\ $$$${y}={bf}\left({t}\right)=\frac{{bx}}{{a}} \\ $$

But this is all you need!  x=2cos t ⇒ cos t =(x/2)  y=3cos t ⇒ y=((3x)/2)
$$\mathrm{But}\:\mathrm{this}\:\mathrm{is}\:\mathrm{all}\:\mathrm{you}\:\mathrm{need}! \\ $$$${x}=\mathrm{2cos}\:{t}\:\Rightarrow\:\mathrm{cos}\:{t}\:=\frac{{x}}{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$$${y}=\mathrm{3cos}\:{t}\:\Rightarrow\:{y}=\frac{\mathrm{3}{x}}{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$
