if the bowl is smooth, why should the   small block rotate with the bowl and  not fall to the middle of the bowl?

the answer (√((g cos θ)/R)) should be  (√(g/(R cos θ)))

mg tan θ=m(R sin θ)ω^2   ⇒ω=(√(g/(R cos θ)))
mgtanθ=m(Rsinθ)ω2ω=gRcosθ
