General linear equation: y=mx+c where m is the constant slope For ∣x∣, the slope is not constant, so it is not linear - but it could be “divided” into linear parts. ∣x∣= { ((x when x≥0)),((−x when x<0)) :} So, the slope is not constant, could be 1 or −1.
