((x^2 −y^2 )/(xy))= ((a^2 −b^2 )/(ab))  (x/y)−(y/x)=(a/b)−(b/a)  let (x/y)= t , (a/b)=p  t−(1/t)=p−(1/p) ⇒t−p = (1/t)−(1/p)  t −p = −(((t−p)/(tp))) ⇒(t−p){1+(1/(tp))}=0  (1) t = p ∨ tp = −1

⇒(x/a)+(y/b)=a^2 +b^2   for t = p ⇒((bx+ay)/(ab))=a^2 +b^2   ((2bx)/(ab))=a^2 +b^2 ⇒x = (a/2)(a^2 +b^2 )
