In the situation given, all surfaces are  frictionless, pulley is ideal and string is  light, F = ((mg)/2) , find the acceleration of  block 2.

F=((mg)/2)=T=(2m)A  A being accceleration of block 2    ⇒    A=(g/4) .
$${F}=\frac{{mg}}{\mathrm{2}}={T}=\left(\mathrm{2}{m}\right){A} \\ $$$${A}\:{being}\:{accceleration}\:{of}\:{block}\:\mathrm{2} \\ $$$$\:\:\Rightarrow\:\:\:\:{A}=\frac{{g}}{\mathrm{4}}\:. \\ $$
