A=24^2 −π×12^2   =576−144π  =123(3/7) cm^2
$${A}=\mathrm{24}^{\mathrm{2}} −\pi×\mathrm{12}^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$$$=\mathrm{576}−\mathrm{144}\pi \\ $$$$=\mathrm{123}\frac{\mathrm{3}}{\mathrm{7}}\:{cm}^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$

I = 24^2 −144π  II = 144π  shaded area = I+II = 576
$${I}\:=\:\mathrm{24}^{\mathrm{2}} −\mathrm{144}\pi \\ $$$${II}\:=\:\mathrm{144}\pi \\ $$$${shaded}\:{area}\:=\:{I}+{II}\:=\:\mathrm{576} \\ $$
