If x:y=5:2, then find the value of (8x+9y)/(8x+27)
$${If}\:{x}:{y}=\mathrm{5}:\mathrm{2},\:{then}\:{find}\:{the}\:{value}\:{of}\:\left(\mathrm{8}{x}+\mathrm{9}{y}\right)/\left(\mathrm{8}{x}+\mathrm{27}\right) \\ $$

((8x+9y)/(8x+27y)) Divide Nr &Dr by y ((8(x/y)+9)/(8(x/y)+27)) =((8×(5/2)+9)/(8×(5/2)+27)) (∵(x/y)=(5/2)) =((40+18)/(40+54)) =((58)/(94)) =((29)/(47))
$$\frac{\mathrm{8}{x}+\mathrm{9}{y}}{\mathrm{8}{x}+\mathrm{27}{y}} \\ $$$${Divide}\:{Nr}\:\&{Dr}\:{by}\:{y} \\ $$$$\frac{\mathrm{8}\frac{{x}}{{y}}+\mathrm{9}}{\mathrm{8}\frac{{x}}{{y}}+\mathrm{27}} \\ $$$$=\frac{\mathrm{8}×\frac{\mathrm{5}}{\mathrm{2}}+\mathrm{9}}{\mathrm{8}×\frac{\mathrm{5}}{\mathrm{2}}+\mathrm{27}}\:\left(\because\frac{{x}}{{y}}=\frac{\mathrm{5}}{\mathrm{2}}\right) \\ $$$$=\frac{\mathrm{40}+\mathrm{18}}{\mathrm{40}+\mathrm{54}} \\ $$$$=\frac{\mathrm{58}}{\mathrm{94}} \\ $$$$=\frac{\mathrm{29}}{\mathrm{47}} \\ $$
