Formula:    n(A∪B)=n(A)+n(B)−n(A∩B)  The above formula suggest that:  ^• n(A∪B) is the greatest when n(A∩B) is  the least i-e n(A∩B)=0 or A∩B=φ  i-e A & B are disjoint sets.      n(A∪B)=n(A)+n(B)−n(A∩B)                       =15+25−0=40  ^• n(A∪B) is the least when n(A∩B) is  the greatest. n(A∩B) is the greatest  when A⊂B .In this case                            n(A∩B)=15  ∴  n(A∪B)=15+25−15=25  (a)The greatest value of n(A∩B)=40  The least value of n(A∩B)=25  −.−.−  (b)The gretest n(A∩B)=15          The least n(A∩B)=0
