6−x=36−12x^2 +x^4 [squaring leads to false solutions] x^4 −12x^2 +x+30=0 (x−2)(x+3)(x^2 −x−5)=0 x_1 =2 x_2 =−3 x_(3, 4) =((1±(√(21)))/2) inserting in original equation gives x=2∨x=((1−(√(21)))/2)
