2.2x+0.44=1.2x−0.24⇒  2.2x−1.2x=−0.44−0.24⇒  x=−0.68
$$\mathrm{2}.\mathrm{2x}+\mathrm{0}.\mathrm{44}=\mathrm{1}.\mathrm{2x}−\mathrm{0}.\mathrm{24}\Rightarrow \\ $$$$\mathrm{2}.\mathrm{2x}−\mathrm{1}.\mathrm{2x}=−\mathrm{0}.\mathrm{44}−\mathrm{0}.\mathrm{24}\Rightarrow \\ $$$$\mathrm{x}=−\mathrm{0}.\mathrm{68} \\ $$

2.2x+0.44=1.2x−0.24  2.2x−1.2x=−0.24−0.44  x=−0.68

It′s a good example to apply  componendo and dividendo  (((x+0.2)+(x−0.2))/((x+0.2)−(x−0.2)))=((1.2+2.2)/(1.2−2.2))  ((2x)/(0.4))=((3.4)/(−1))  x=−3.4×0.2=−0.68
