Use a^2 −b^2 =(a+b)(a−b) ∴ the given expression =6y =6×2.3 (given y=2.3) =13.8
$${Use}\:{a}^{\mathrm{2}} −{b}^{\mathrm{2}} =\left({a}+{b}\right)\left({a}−{b}\right) \\ $$$$\therefore\:{the}\:{given}\:{expression} \\ $$$$=\mathrm{6}{y} \\ $$$$=\mathrm{6}×\mathrm{2}.\mathrm{3}\:\left({given}\:{y}=\mathrm{2}.\mathrm{3}\right) \\ $$$$=\mathrm{13}.\mathrm{8} \\ $$
