let x be the side of the square, y the side of    the rectangle with perimeter 25   2x + 2y = 25   2(x − y) + 2x = 23   ⇒ 4x − 2y = 23              (+)          2x + 2y = 25           6x  + 0 = 48  x = 8   A = 64 u^2
