two cars moving at speed of 10(m/(sec)) and 16(m/(sec)) on a road with a length of 200m against each other so how long will it take them to reach each other?

the 2 speeds add up. ((200m)/(26(m/s)))=((100)/(13))s
$$\mathrm{the}\:\mathrm{2}\:\mathrm{speeds}\:\mathrm{add}\:\mathrm{up}. \\ $$$$\frac{\mathrm{200}{m}}{\mathrm{26}\frac{{m}}{{s}}}=\frac{\mathrm{100}}{\mathrm{13}}{s} \\ $$

if I take 1 step in your direction and at the same time you take one step in my direction then how many steps are we closer than before?

you need no formula. obviously if the first car drives with speed v_1 and the second car with speed v_2 then they approach each other with speed v_1 +v_2
$$\mathrm{you}\:\mathrm{need}\:\mathrm{no}\:\mathrm{formula}.\:\mathrm{obviously}\:\mathrm{if}\:\mathrm{the}\:\mathrm{first} \\ $$$$\mathrm{car}\:\mathrm{drives}\:\mathrm{with}\:\mathrm{speed}\:{v}_{\mathrm{1}} \:\mathrm{and}\:\mathrm{the}\:\mathrm{second}\:\mathrm{car} \\ $$$$\mathrm{with}\:\mathrm{speed}\:{v}_{\mathrm{2}} \:\mathrm{then}\:\mathrm{they}\:\mathrm{approach}\:\mathrm{each}\:\mathrm{other} \\ $$$$\mathrm{with}\:\mathrm{speed}\:{v}_{\mathrm{1}} +{v}_{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$
