✓ x − 3y = (x + y) − 4y = k − 4y = 6 ⇒ 4y = k − 6 ⇒ y = ((k − 6)/4) ✓ x + y = x + ((k − 6)/4) = k ⇒ x = k − ((k − 6)/4) = ((3k + 6)/4) ✓ x^2 − y^2 = (((3k + 6)/4))^2 − (((k − 6)/4))^2 = ((k^2 + 6k)/2) = (((k + 3)^2 − 9)/2) (min : k = −3) = − (9/2)
