If all the sides of a hexagon is increased by 2%. Find the % increase in its area.

1.02^2 =1.0404=104.04% i.e. its area increases by 4.04%.
$$\mathrm{1}.\mathrm{02}^{\mathrm{2}} =\mathrm{1}.\mathrm{0404}=\mathrm{104}.\mathrm{04\%} \\ $$$$\mathrm{i}.\mathrm{e}.\:\mathrm{its}\:\mathrm{area}\:\mathrm{increases}\:\mathrm{by}\:\mathrm{4}.\mathrm{04\%}. \\ $$$$ \\ $$

Area of hexagon not area of square!
$$\boldsymbol{\mathrm{Area}}\:\boldsymbol{\mathrm{of}}\:\boldsymbol{\mathrm{hexagon}}\:\mathrm{not}\:\mathrm{area}\:\mathrm{of}\:\mathrm{square}! \\ $$

it′s valid for arbitrary n−polygon.

The increase (or decrease) of the area is proportional to the square of the increase (or decrease) of the perimeter.
$$\mathrm{The}\:\mathrm{increase}\:\left(\mathrm{or}\:\mathrm{decrease}\right)\:\mathrm{of}\:\mathrm{the} \\ $$$$\mathrm{area}\:\mathrm{is}\:\mathrm{proportional}\:\mathrm{to}\:\mathrm{the}\:\mathrm{square} \\ $$$$\mathrm{of}\:\mathrm{the}\:\mathrm{increase}\:\left(\mathrm{or}\:\mathrm{decrease}\right)\:\mathrm{of}\:\mathrm{the} \\ $$$$\mathrm{perimeter}. \\ $$
