If a, b are real numbers & 4cos^2 θ = ((4a^2 +9b^2 +5)/(a+3b)),                   then the value of (a+b) will be:  (a) (7/6)            (b) (5/4)            (c) ((11)/6)            (d) ((17)/(12))

Let′s just solve the equation for b  b=((2cos^2  θ)/3)±((√(−4a^2 +4acos^2  θ +4cos^4  θ −5))/3)  b∈R ⇒ −4a^2 +4acos^2  θ +4cos^4  θ −5≥0  a^2 −acos^2  θ −cos^4  θ +(5/4)≤0  a^2 −acos^2  θ +((cos^4  θ)/4)≤(5/4)(cos^4  θ −1)  (a−((cos^2  θ)/2))^2 ≤(5/4)(cos^4  θ −1)  But 0≤lhs ∧ −(5/4)≤rhs≤0  ⇒ Only solution when lhs=rhs=0  lhs=0 ⇒ a=((cos^2  θ)/2)  rhs=0 ⇒ cos θ =±1  ⇒ a=(1/2)∧b=(2/3)  ⇒ a+b=(7/6)

0≤((4a^2 +9b^2 +5)/(a+3b))≤4  ⇒4a^2 −4a+9b^2 −12b+5≤0  ⇒4(a−(1/2))^2 +9(b−(2/3))^2 ≤0  ⇒a=(1/2)  &  b=(2/3)  ⇒a+b=(7/6)

5=4+1  1+4a^2 ≥4a  9b^2 +4≥12b  ⇒4cos^2 (θ)≥4⇒cos^2 (θ)=1  ⇒a=(1/2)  b=(2/3)
