find the pink area
$${find}\:{the}\:{pink}\:{area} \\ $$

Pink area in terms of R & r: A_p =π(R^2 −r^2 ) On the other hand x^2 +r^2 =R^2 or R^2 −r^2 =x^2 Therefore A_p =πx^2
$${Pink}\:{area}\:{in}\:{terms}\:{of}\:{R}\:\&\:{r}: \\ $$$${A}_{{p}} =\pi\left({R}^{\mathrm{2}} −{r}^{\mathrm{2}} \right) \\ $$$${On}\:{the}\:{other}\:{hand} \\ $$$${x}^{\mathrm{2}} +{r}^{\mathrm{2}} ={R}^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$$${or}\:\:\:{R}^{\mathrm{2}} −{r}^{\mathrm{2}} ={x}^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$$${Therefore} \\ $$$${A}_{{p}} =\pi{x}^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$
