x = ((a(−r^n  + 1))/(−r + 1)) = ((a[−(r^n  − 1)])/(−(r − 1)))  x = ((−a(r^n  − 1))/(−(r − 1))) = ((a(r^n  − 1))/(r − 1))  x is the sum of terms of a Geometric  Progression  ratio = r  first term = a
