∠ADB=45° and ∠BAD=90° ∴∠ABD=45° ∴ AB=y=AD let BD=x x^2 =2y^2 ⇒ y=(x/( (√2))) (x=(√2)y) thinking. I don′t remember geometry.
$$\angle{ADB}=\mathrm{45}°\:\:\mathrm{and}\:\:\:\angle{BAD}=\mathrm{90}° \\ $$$$\therefore\angle{ABD}=\mathrm{45}° \\ $$$$\therefore\:{AB}={y}={AD} \\ $$$$\mathrm{let}\:{BD}={x} \\ $$$${x}^{\mathrm{2}} =\mathrm{2}{y}^{\mathrm{2}} \:\Rightarrow\:{y}=\frac{{x}}{\:\sqrt{\mathrm{2}}} \\ $$$$\left({x}=\sqrt{\mathrm{2}}{y}\right) \\ $$$$\: \\ $$$$\mathrm{thinking}.\:\mathrm{I}\:\mathrm{don}'\mathrm{t}\:\mathrm{remember}\:\mathrm{geometry}. \\ $$
