2((1/2)×9×18)−2×27=108cm^2

$$\mathrm{2}\left(\frac{\mathrm{1}}{\mathrm{2}}×\mathrm{9}×\mathrm{18}\right)−\mathrm{2}×\mathrm{27}=\mathrm{108cm}^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$

((BF)/9) = (6/9) ⇒BF = 6 cm  shaded area = 18^2 −27−2((1/2)×6×18)−(1/2)×9×18  = 324−27−108−81 = 108 cm^2

$$\frac{{BF}}{\mathrm{9}}\:=\:\frac{\mathrm{6}}{\mathrm{9}}\:\Rightarrow{BF}\:=\:\mathrm{6}\:{cm} \\ $$$${shaded}\:{area}\:=\:\mathrm{18}^{\mathrm{2}} −\mathrm{27}−\mathrm{2}\left(\frac{\mathrm{1}}{\mathrm{2}}×\mathrm{6}×\mathrm{18}\right)−\frac{\mathrm{1}}{\mathrm{2}}×\mathrm{9}×\mathrm{18} \\ $$$$=\:\mathrm{324}−\mathrm{27}−\mathrm{108}−\mathrm{81}\:=\:\mathrm{108}\:{cm}^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$
