x^2 +2x−2=1⇒x=1,−3  (((x+2)^2 )/y) =(1/(√5)) ⇒x=1,y=9(√5),  x=−3, y= (√5)  (x,y) = (1,9(√5)),(−3,(√5))

(1) x^2 +2x−2=1 ⇒ x^2 +2x−3=0 ∧x>−2  ⇒(x+3)(x−1)=0⇒x=1, x=−3(rejected)  (2) 2log _5 (x+2)−log _5 (y)=−(1/2)  log _5 ((((x+2)^2 )/y))=log _5 ((1/(√5)))  → y = (√5) (x+2)^2  = 9(√5) = ■
