8x^3 − 6x + 2 = 0 ⇒ (x + 1)(8x^2 − 8x + 2) = 0 ⇒ x + 1 = 0 or 8x^2 − 8x + 2 = 0 • x + 1 = 0 x = −1 • 2(4x^2 − 4x + 1) = 0 (2x − 1)^2 = 0 x = (1/2)

8x36x+2=0(x+1)(8x28x+2)=0x+1=0or8x28x+2=0x+1=0x=12(4x24x+1)=0(2x1)2=0x=12
