4x  = 60  Divide both side by 4  ((4x)/4) = ((60)/4)  ∴ x = 15

$$\mathrm{4x}\:\:=\:\mathrm{60} \\ $$$$\mathrm{Divide}\:\mathrm{both}\:\mathrm{side}\:\mathrm{by}\:\mathrm{4} \\ $$$$\frac{\mathrm{4x}}{\mathrm{4}}\:=\:\frac{\mathrm{60}}{\mathrm{4}} \\ $$$$\therefore\:\mathrm{x}\:=\:\mathrm{15} \\ $$
