$$\mathrm{2}^{\mathrm{x}} +\mathrm{2}^{\mathrm{y}} =\mathrm{40}\:,\mathrm{find}\:\:\mathrm{x\&y}? \\ $$

x=5 or 3  y=3 or 5

$${x}=\mathrm{5}\:{or}\:\mathrm{3} \\ $$ $${y}=\mathrm{3}\:{or}\:\mathrm{5} \\ $$

if x, y ∈R ⇒ infinite solutions  if x, y ∈N ⇒ x=3∧y=5 ∨ x=5∧y=3

$$\mathrm{if}\:{x},\:{y}\:\in\mathbb{R}\:\Rightarrow\:\mathrm{infinite}\:\mathrm{solutions} \\ $$ $$\mathrm{if}\:{x},\:{y}\:\in\mathbb{N}\:\Rightarrow\:{x}=\mathrm{3}\wedge{y}=\mathrm{5}\:\vee\:{x}=\mathrm{5}\wedge{y}=\mathrm{3} \\ $$
