(a)  A=P(1+r)^n   ⇒n=((ln ((A/P)))/(ln (1+r)))  n=((ln 2)/(ln 1.1))=7.27 years  (b)  with k compounding periods in one  year:  A=P(1+(r/k))^(nk)   continuous means k→∞:  A=P×lim_(k→∞) (1+(r/k))^(nk)   A=P×[lim_(k→∞) (1+(r/k))^(k/r) ]^(nr) =Pe^(nr)   ⇒n=((ln ((A/P)))/r)  n=((ln 2)/(0.1))=6.93 years
