sum of shaded areas is the red triangle  which is 1/4 of the square.

Find the area of the shaded part.

easy to see:  shaded area=((square)/4)=((6×6)/4)=9

$${easy}\:{to}\:{see}: \\ $$$${shaded}\:{area}=\frac{{square}}{\mathrm{4}}=\frac{\mathrm{6}×\mathrm{6}}{\mathrm{4}}=\mathrm{9} \\ $$
